If you become possessed by this emotion and swept away by it, you have fallen into a raging river where all you can do is try and keep your emotional head above water. The current will take you further and further away from yourself so that you are no longer able to think. You are relying solely on your instincts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In most situations where our needs are threatened, it is not life and death. You need more than your survival instincts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If you are swept away by fear it will distort your cognitive structures and logic. The information, knowledge, and wisdom you have acquired will be inaccessible and\/or of little use.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
